Hi! Here for sale due to financial and health reasons is my beloved 2001 Y reg 2.8 litre diesel 5 berth LWB Swift Sundance motorhome, solidly built on the popular Fiat Ducato LWB chassis, so loads of room and can of course be driven on a standard UK car driving licence as the Max Technically Permissible Laden Mass is 3400kg. Has 3 designated passenger seats as the front-facing two of the 4 centre cabin seats are complete with factory fitted seat belts and anchor points to a sturdy hidden steel frame for happy and safe travels with family and friends.
Some features:
Kitchen sink with hot and cold taps, gas or electric powered water heater, BRAND NEW Whale pump fitted just last autumn, 80 litre fresh water tank, and under floor-mounted 80 litre wastewater tank.
Double bed slides out from 2 bases above cab, with small 8mm toughened glass skylight to view the morning sun or night stars, and larger window and privacy blind at head or foot of bed, and spotlight. Handy compact ladder to step up to bed stores away above cab or in shower when not in use.
Private shower room with hot & cold shower and fibreglass shower tray, compact handbasin with hot & cold taps, and trusty Thetford cassette toilet.
Sociable eating area of four comfy seats around good sized table amidships, with view to RHS, which easily converts in 2 minutes to a comfy double bed.
Comfy single bed to rear LHS of living area, easily converts to smaller sitting area for 4 little ones or 2 adults, and table for views to the rear and LHS at breakfast/lunch.
Gas fire amidships (serviced summer/autumn 2023) which runs from fitted 15kg propane cylinder and new regulator, professionally fitted autumn 2023.
Fridge with compact top freezer compartment which runs from either 240V mains hookup, 12V vehicle battery or 15kg propane cylinder.
Large openable skylight amidships with retractable flyscreen and privacy blind.
Side door to living area, upgraded with steel plate-reinforced locking bolt for high security, openable only from inside the vehicle.
3 section Werner aluminium ladder for roof access (fits handily above cab) included in sale, cost £120 BRAND NEW last summer, if you want it.
As i fitted her out with the intention of living permanently in her, she has at the cost of ££££’s spent:
Full solar array of THREE roof-mounted Trinasolar 505Watt rated solar panels BRAND NEW and bolted securely to cabin roof structure, connected via individual 32A circuit breaker and professional industry grade cabling to a BRAND NEW Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150Volt, 45Amp rated charge controller, which charges and maintains a substantial BRAND NEW 12.8Volt, 280Amp-hour LiFePO4 battery (cost £560 last autumn) which sits in a custom battery storage cupboard and supplies a BRAND NEW 3000Watt continuous (5000Watt peak) rated Lvyuan inverter, which gives you three 240V mains sockets and four USB charge points from one compact unit handily mounted in the main living area. This setup has all the proper heavy duty copper cabling running in ducting hidden inside the cupboards, and is intended for you to be able to run a microwave, elecric space heater etc for short periods directly from the battery, i engineered it for this purpose.
BRAND NEW unused 700Watt microwave, bought for around £60 last summer.
Reversing camera and rear mirror display screen are fitted but there is a loose cable connection somewhere so inoperative just now, easy fix I think.
ALKO galvanized chassis.
More photos to follow from inside, as i have yet to complete the last few ducted electrical connections from circuit breakers to charge controller, and from battery to inverter, hence i still have tools and stuff in the living area sorry.
As she was bought to go off-road and up into the snowy hill roads of Scotland, she was fitted with four BRAND NEW Michelin CrossClimate Camping tyres just last summer; these are proper large motorhome-rated tyres which carry the prestigous 3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake symbol shown on the sidewall; in Northern European countries in winter, no vehicle is permitted to go up into snowy mountain passes unless it is fitted with tyres of this class. These tyres retail at around £800 a set.
BAD BITS:
Will need new 110Ah leisure battery, existing one is still operating but only at around 7 volts, so is on the way out.
There is water damage (see 2nd last photo) to the upper RHS cupboard area MDF trim, the pine and ply carcases are fine but the MDF all swelled up due to a small leakage around one corner of the main skylight as the circumferential sealant is in need of replacing, I WILL COMPLETELY RENEW THE SEALANT BEFORE AUCTION END for you.
I have not tested the hot water heater, you will probably know more about them than me!
The original 240V mains hookup supply is currently not operating as i suspect that the original leisure battery charger has taken a knock, causing a loose contact in the circuit; to remedy this meanwhile, I have fitted for you a BRAND NEW 240V mains hookup socket and 13A rated extension lead which gives you four additional 240V sockets in a handy location in the living area (see photo please).
Dimensions: Overall length 6.60m (21’8″) Overall width with mirrors folded in 2.18m (7’2″) Overall height 2.83m (9’3″)
Also for your convenience she has fitted a proper galvanized steel turret plate under the rear LHS seat ready to take the BRAND NEW 5000Watt rated diesel heater included, i have the proper stainless steel air intake and exhaust hoses with it, and even a BRAND NEW fuel filter and fuel hose upgrade kit custom made for these popular heaters, i just never got around to installing them, see photo. The heater can be operated by its remote control with the seat and lid in place, has a 5 litre tank, and both draws in fresh combustion air and discharges its exhaust safely through the floor turret to outside.
Overall, a beautiful, solidly built and homely, spacious big motorhome which has provided much pleasure to me, and starts first time every time. Since I bought her I have taken her a short drive at least every few weeks in order to keep the tyres etc in good condition, and have had her on a few longer road trips of 470 miles down to Morpeth and Preston from western Scotland with never a problem, she is comfy and relaxing to drive. I am more than happy to collect prospective bidders/viewers from my local train station which is in Irvine, Ayrshire, and to do payment as bank transfer for your safety and convenience. Thanks again to all you interested parties for your questions, views and bids!
PS She flew through her MOT last July, needing only a reversing light bulb
